Work On Your Business, Not In It

By 13 February, 2017Blog

It’s a common problem for business owners – getting bogged down working ‘in’ their business, rather than ‘on’ their business. Of course, there is always a time when working in the business is necessary. However, as your business grows (and if you want it to grow further) you need to be able to take a step back in order to be able to see what your business needs. Working too closely in the day-to-day operations can often prevent this from being possible.

Micromanaging every minute detail makes you an ineffective leader. Where possible, systemise repetitive details and less important tasks, or employ staff. This leaves you free to focus on the ‘macro’ tasks that are related to furthering your business – whether it be in to new markets, new audiences, new anything.

Just remember, every minute you spend working on tasks that can be delegated is a minute which takes you away from planning, strategising and building the best business possible.

If you find yourself nodding in agreement whilst reading this, maybe it’s time to consider getting help. A great first step is to outsource to PA to the Stars and only pay for the hours used. That means less commitment and less expenses than hiring your own staff member.
